The cottage is located at: 1034 Bird lake Crescent, Bracebridge, Ontario, P1L 1X1.
The cottage is perfectly situated:
• 2 ½ hours from Toronto
• 1 ½ hour from Barrie
• 2 ¼ hours from Durham Region
• 30 minutes from Bracebridge

In the summer there is a minimum booking of 1 week. In other seasons there is a minimum booking of 2 nights. Long weekends there is a minimum booking of 3 nights.

Check-in is at 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Check-out is at 11 am on the date of your departure.

Bird Lake is perfectly safe for swimming. At the cottage, we have a shallow, sandy area which is perfect for wading or swimming with small kids. Beyond this area is beautiful, clear water with a floating swim platform.

Our lake front cottage features both a wide, gentle grade, beach entry and deep water off the dock (~6 feet).

Absolutely! We are pet lovers ourselves and couldn’t imagine leaving our four legged family members at home. We do insist on an extra $50 security deposit in case of any pet related accidents during your stay.

The Lake House is located 30-35 minutes from Bracebridge or 40 minutes to Gravenhurst where you can find groceries, LCBO, various restaurants and dining options, shopping and most all other amenities.

The Lake House is a four season destination. Located on a municipally maintained road, the cottage is fully winterized with a propane furnace, wood stove, propane fireplace and heated water line. It makes the perfect getaway to enjoy fall colors, the top snowmobiling trails at your door, fantastic ice fishing, or just relaxing in the peace and quiet.

The availability calendar is always up to date. Once a request is submitted those dates are reserved. Please be aware that availability changes quickly. So book early to avoid disappointment.

Cancellation must be in writing. If cancellation is provided with a minimum of 30 days notice, a full refund will be provided. If cancellation is requested within 30 days, you will receive a refund for days that can be rebooked less a cancellation fee of $150.

Muskoka has some of the greatest sport & recreational fishing in the province. Bird Lake and neighbouring Big Wind Lake are home to many different fish species including yellow perch, walleye, lake trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and northern pike. So pack your fishing poles! Bird Lake is naturally a perfect place for fishing and reconnecting to nature. We provide everything needed to enjoy a relaxing stay on the lake. All you need to bring is towels, food, and personal items. The cottage is fully equipped and stocked with:
• Linens
• Dishes
• All kitchen utensils
• Coffee maker
• Electric Kettle
• Microwave
• Blender
• Life jackets (S & L)
• Patio set
• Hand soap
• Marshmallow roasting sticks

 

The cottage is equipped with satellite internet service. Unfortunately unlimited WiFi isn’t available so large downloads and streaming videos (Netflix, Prime, Crave, YouTube, etc) are prohibited.

Cell reception is spotty but also available. However, you’ll find that The Lake House is a perfect place to disconnect from the world and reconnect to nature, yourself, and your family and friends.

Yes, we have that too! There is a TV in the living room and you’ll have access to Bell Satellite TV.

 

We’re year-round grillers, so a BBQ is a must. We supply a full propane tank for our guests. If you happen to run out, you can always exchange one of the tanks in town. We also have all the necessary grilling utensils needed for your cookouts.

Absolutely! The cottage uses a lake water system equipped with multiple levels of filtration and UV sterilization.

Yes! We have a fire pit for small fires, so you can enjoy sunsets and roast marshmallows with the quiet sounds of Bird Lake in the background. Nothing aside from firewood should be burned and we do ask that you bring your own wood.

Yes! A washer and dryer was installed on the main level over the winter. We know what a pain it can be to not have this available for all those wet towels.
